Patient Provider Interaction
Improve the relationship between a patient and their healthcare provider while improving patient compliance and increasing positive health outcomes.
This workshop gives healthcare providers the skills and coaching to more effectively communicate with their patients. Through working with our coaches, your healthcare advocate will get the opportunity to practice skills which improve the medical interview, and their ability to have an impact on patients’ adherence to a prescribed regimen. In a very short time, participants learn how to quickly address any barriers in communication from cultural differences to varying levels of health literacy. They will also be coached to execute skills which have been shown to improve patients’ receptivity and retention.
- Identify the types of provider - patient relationships and the pros and cons of each.
- Introduce the importance of establishing credibility and why this is crucial to compliance.
- Identify the barriers to successful communication and methods to overcome these.
- Review effective delivery in common medical interviews for both giving and withholding information and address different ways that information is processed.
Each participant will have the opportunity to practice many of the skills taught. This workshop can be tailored to meet the individual objectives of the participants.
