Training Trainers: Becoming a more effective trainer

Learn techniques that make the learning process memorable, effective and enjoyable for all learning styles

Adults have very different training needs than children; unlike children, they arrive with expectations, subject knowledge and attitudes that shape their training experience. They also have demands on their time that make them less willing to invest the time in a training session that is not immediately engaging, useful and fun.

Participants will:

  • Understand how learning occurs
  • Learn the three unique styles of adult learning
  • Develop and practice techniques to engage all learning styles
  • Practice effective coaching techniques

This session also reviews the differences between “presentation” and “facilitation” skills and offers tips for creating the ideal learning environment. Participants will be coached to deliver specific training content. By the end of the program, each participant will be a stronger more nuanced educator.

Training Trainers

Training can be evaluated on four levels:

Level 1: Reaction
How do trainees react to the program and what is the measure of their satisfaction?

Level 2: Learning
Did the trainees understand the concepts and techniques that were taught? Did they develop and/or improve skills?

Level 3: Behavior
To what extent was on-the-job behavior changed as a result of the program? Why or why not?

Level 4: Results
What results have occurred because of the training? This could be many things from improved quality of work to an increased ROI.
